This Amsterdam trio mixes shoegaze, post punk and indie with an optimistic undertone. Quite the accomplishment, given the subjects Marathon tackles. Inspired by daytime television and TV-dinners, the band’s lyrics engage with a dislocated society, in which loneliness, lack of housing and pressure to perform are part of the everyday experience. This month Marathon perform at ACU in Utrecht (9/27) WORM in Rotterdam (9/28) en Mereleyn in Nijmegen (9/29). Check out there website for more info!
